Green Tea as Fat Burner

Food, which includes sugar and fat,  is turned into a substance known as “triglyceride” once it gets to the liver and the small intestine. After that, it is carried into the bloodstream and then brought to other tissues throughout the body.

Triglyceride is used to create energy to support life and physical activity, and is a necessary substance.  A problem about when there is too much triglyceride in the body because then it will be turned into fat leading to obesity.

This is where green tea might help. It possesses large amounts of polyphenols which help activate the enzyme which  is responsible for helping to dissolve excess triglyceride in the body. Over time, this could mean that green tea is an effective fat burner.

Green Tea for Weight Loss

Green tea includes certain powerful antioxidants called catechin polyphenols that are the source of many of the purported health benefits of green tea. One in particular, epigallocatechin gallate (also referred to as EGCG), has been reported to help stimulate the metabolism, thus accelerating weight loss.

Combined with the caffeine in green tea, EGCG helps stimulate the central nervous system causing fat to be released into the bloodstream that the body can use as fuel. The process of using fat to create energy is known as “thermogenesis”. It creates extra energy, removes extra water, and helps the body with fat burning.

Even though caffeine on its own can help stimulate the metabolism, it is important to remember that researchers noted that the combined ingredients found in green tea were far more effective in this process than was strictly caffeine on its own.

Green Tea Weight Loss Pills

Over the last thirty years or so, green tea has gone through a variety of scientific and medical studies to figure out if it really does have the oft-claimed health benefits. There is some evidence that points to the claim that individuals who regularly drink green tea may have lessened risk of heart disease and certain types of cancer. Green tea has also been purported as helpful in the management of weight loss management.

On the back of many bottles of popular diet pills, you will see green tea or green tea extract weight loss listed as one of the ingredients. But remember that diet pills can be dangerous and filled with a variety of other unhealthy or unsafe ingredients. But there is a reason they include green tea as an ingredient. It does seem to help people lose weight. Of course it's not going to be quick fix or cureall that some companies will want to claim, but there is scientific proof that green tea helps burn calories and block the absorption of fat.
