What is a coffee table? It is a table that commonly sits in front of a sofa. It can be used for a variety of purposes, such as holding books, storing items such as toys, placing drinks, or resting your feet. Although the table itself is named after coffee,  a coffee table really shouldn't be exposed to water or moisture. Unsealed wood, in particular, is especially vulnerable, but really any kind of surface can develop a water ring if  you leave a cup sitting out for too long.  Coasters are really important to help keep your table in great condition.
